When I was going through infertility treatment about a year ago, everything I read suggested the power of support groups. Over time, I started to see how true this was in my own life. I was happy that I finally shared about my IVF journeys more openly with my friends and expressed my emotions more frequently at home. However, at the end of the day, no one else in my life was experiencing infertility as emotionally as I was. I needed to connect with others who were going through similar experiences. When I learned that the RESOLVE New England support group in Burlington had closed, I realized there was a real need for family building support in Vermont. Almost a year later, I stumbled onto RNE’s website again and saw that everyday people were encouraged to become peer support group leaders. This was so exciting to me! I remember thinking, “Wow, this is a great opportunity to bring people together for support and connection, and I believe I am the kind of person who could do this!” Now, merely a few weeks later, the new group in Middlebury is about to get going.

I am very grateful that RNE has such a strong network of people that enabled this to happen so smoothly and efficiently.  Our first group in Middlebury is on September 8th, and I hope to meet you there!
